LAURA MARLING DISCOGRAPHY 2007-2012

NOTES

London Town EP - 39th most collectable record The Marling song SHE'S CHANGED was recorded only once, on the LONDON TOWN EP in 2007.

The Telegraph has published a list of the 50 most collectable records. Number 39 on the list is Laura Marling's LONDON TOWN EP. Number one on the list is GOD SAVE THE QUEEN by the Sex Pistols.

Blues Run the Game artwork A limited edition Marling 7-inch (that's a 45 in the US) is part of Third Man Records' Blue Series of releases. Marling performed Jackson C Frank's Blues Run The Game and Neil Young's The Needle And The Damage Done and White sat in the producer's chair for the session, which was done at White's Nashville studio. This is the only Marling release to have her photo on the cover.

I SPEAK BECAUSE I CAN art I SPEAK BECAUSE I CAN, and ALAS I CANOT SWIM have been re-issued on CD and heavy vinyl in North America through Ribbon Music.

Lynn Roberts of forfolkssake.com profiled SOPHIE MILNER, who did the cover art for the album I SPEAK BECAUSE I CAN, and for the Mumford & Sons EP LOVE YOUR GROUND.

Sophia - artwork

SOPHIA, the penultimate track on A Creature I Don't Know, received its first radio play on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show. A 7 inch vinyl of SOPHIA (B-side is a WNYC live performance of REST IN THE BED) was released.

On RECORD STORE DAY 2012, Marling released a 7 inch vinyl containing Flicker and Fail and a previously unreleased song that has rarely been performed live, To Be A Woman.

Marling did some of the vocals for track five of The Rakes CD Ten New Messages. Interestingly enough, she is listed in the album notes as Laura Marlin without the ending 'g'. This cannot yet be downloaded in the US. The import CD is available from Amazon.

With the Mystery Jets she recorded YOUNG LOVE which was released as the second track on their CD Twenty-One. The song has also been released as a single. The B side of the single is Flakes which is track four on the aforementioned CD but the version on the single has ben recorded on a dictaphone. This may not have been a good idea.

MARLING'S BAND (2009-2012)

Graham Brown - double bass
Ruth de Turberville - cello & vocals
Marcus Hamblett - banjo & trumpet
Matt Ingram - drums & vocals
Pete Roe - keyboards & vocals

Ruth De Turberville

Ruth De Turberville started playing the cello and singing at a young age in the various orchestras and choirs of her home county of Berkshire, UK. Classically trained, she has done numerous live and studio recordings with the Cambridge band "The Winter Kings".
